MILL STREET PARK
The World Chicken Festival “WCF Horizon” Volleyball Tournament will be held Friday and Saturday. Pool play will begin Friday evening and continue Saturday morning. Following Pool play, teams will be seeded and Tournament play will take place Saturday afternoon and evening. The games will be played at Mill Street Park just west of the downtown festival area.
There are three divisions which include: B-Division, for skilled players; C-Division, for more advanced players; and REC-Division, for players who just enjoy playing volleyball for fun. Divisions may be changed without prior notice by tournament directors.
Teams will consist of six players, both men and women. Each team must have two women on the court at all times. USA volleyball rules apply. The entry fee is $60.00 for all divisions. The entry deadline is Monday, September 20th, 2010 at 5:00 pm.
Team Captains will meet Friday, September 28, prior to the start of Pool play.
Court officials will officiate. They will interpret rules and settle all disputes. Officials will have the final say. Verbal abuse and/or physical contact with a court official will not be tolerated. Violators will be prosecuted.
Rosters are final after play begins. Prizes will awarded to 1st and 2nd place teams in each division. Concessions will be available. This is a fund-raiser for the Horizon Volleyball Club.
